About this outing

The Egypt Centre’s public play provision includes mummification, senet and object handling alongside activities in both galleries and the first-floor landing. The play area outside the House of Life has a Playmobil pyramid, dress-up costumes and children’s books. Other choices include a market stall, puzzles, sensory toys, pipe cleaners and a ribbon loom. Follow the puppy Anubis signs to play areas and ask staff about the public activities available during your visit. This is museum play during ordinary opening, not a separately timed booked workshop.

Planning your visit

  • Tuesday–Saturday 10am–4pm; closed Sunday and Monday. Ask staff about the day’s public activities.
  • The first-floor play area is outside the House of Life; a lift and ramp alternative are described by the museum.
