Merstham Recreation Ground
An inclusive playground, picnic space and accessible paths around Merstham’s refurbished Rec.
- Where
- Merstham Recreation Ground, Weldon Way, Merstham RH1 3QB
About this outing
The Rec on Weldon Way has a play area with an accessible slide, seesaws, roundabout and sensory and percussion instruments. A continuous accessible path and wet-pour surface help wheelchair access; the design achieved PiPA Gold accreditation. There are improved buggy-friendly paths, a picnic area and community orchard, refurbished tennis and games courts and table tennis. Pavilion toilets and changing rooms opened in December 2025. The council still describes the café kiosk as awaiting opening and the water-channel habitat as fenced off: do not assume either is available. The parkour course is for over-12s, not the younger children using the playground.
