About this outing
Walk the marked paths through a working reservoir and nature reserve, looking for water birds and exploring the bird hides. The Engine House has a visitor centre, café, accessible toilets and baby-changing facilities. Entry to the reserve is free; parking is paid. The Engine House and main concrete path are accessible, while other tracks can be uneven or muddy. Keep away from the water: paddling, swimming and sitting near the water’s edge are not allowed. Do not feed wildlife or forage. Assistance dogs only. Paths 4–5 are currently closed for electricity-pylon works, with reopening expected by the end of October; the 1–2–3 path has reopened. Follow signs and return the same way if you reach a closure.
