About this outing

Choose a Family Fun Swim in the training pool, advertised for all ages, rather than assuming every pool is suitable for young children. The competition pool is 3m deep and excludes under-11s and non-swimmers; swimmers must manage 100m in a recognised stroke. In the training pool, under-8s and non-swimmers aged 9–16 must be actively supervised in the water by a competent adult, with no more than two such children per adult. Under-8s and all non-swimmers must stay in shallow water. Pool sessions and event closures have their own timetable; check the exact session before booking.

Planning your visit

  • Check the swimming-session timetable and relevant supervision rules before booking.
  • October, November and December have published event-disruption notices.
  • Venue hours conflict: the homepage says 6am–10pm; the dedicated opening-times page says 6am–11pm. Swimming times vary separately.
  • Training pool: no more than two under-8s or non-swimmers aged 9–16 per competent adult swimmer, actively supervising in the water.
  • Under-8s and all non-swimmers must stay in shallow water; the venue strongly recommends suitable buoyancy aids.
  • Competition-pool sessions last at most 60 minutes and require the ability to swim 100m in a recognised stroke.
  • Saturday 24 October: competition pool and its changing rooms are closed 6am–7pm, reopening after 7pm. Other facilities and scheduled swimming and diving lessons continue; the car park may be busier.
