The circular waterside walk around Llanishen Reservoir follows the upper route beside the water. Welsh Water describes this route as wheelchair-accessible, but the compacted gravel can become wet and puddled: wear waterproof footwear, stay on the signposted paths and keep off the sensitive grass. Current essential maintenance closes the picnic area near the visitor centre, the lower path from the boathouse to Rhyd-y-Penau track, the Story Trail and Towy Road Gate. The owner says the waterside path around Llanishen Reservoir remains open. The adjacent Lisvane Reservoir circuit closes October–March to protect overwintering birds. Dogs are not allowed on reservoir paths, except assistance dogs.
