About this outing
Make a lantern with artists in Bermondsey Square, choosing a simple jam-jar design for smaller hands or building a willow-and-tissue-paper lantern as a family team. All materials, tools and lights are provided. The free workshop runs on 5 November 2026, 16:00–19:00. A large willow lantern takes around two hours plus drying time. Take your lantern home and bring it to the separate Illuminate Bermondsey procession on 20 November.
Planning your visit
- Wear an apron or clothes that can get glue and art materials on them.
- Work with family or friends to bend and stick larger willow lanterns.
- Reserve through the organiser’s Eventbrite page.
