About this outing
The Hunterian Zoology Museum in the Graham Kerr Building on the Gilmorehill campus displays just under 800 animal species, from elephants and echidnas to giant squid and glass sponges. The collection was arranged to support teaching, but the owner explicitly advertises public free entry Monday–Friday 9am–5pm. It is a specimen museum, not a live-animal attraction. The building is a five-minute walk from the Hunterian Museum. There are three steps into the Graham Kerr Building with a chairlift available, and three into the main museum room with a ramp available. There are no accessible toilets at this museum. Check temporary-closure notices before travelling; it is not a weekend alternative to the main Hunterian Museum. Campus parking is permit-only on weekdays, with a registered Blue Badge visitor-permit arrangement.
