About this outing
NHSN and Northumberland Bat Group invite families to the Field Studies Room at Gosforth Nature Reserve on Saturday 31 October, 2–4pm. Learn what bats eat, where they live and why they matter, then make a colourful poster and an air-dry clay bat. No experience is needed and children can work at their own pace without staying for the full two hours. A responsible adult must accompany children throughout. Book ahead using the organiser’s free Eventbrite tickets; retained tickets are on sale and close at 2.30pm on 31 October, subject to capacity. Accessible toilet facilities and a small honesty café are available. Parking directly outside is limited; the organiser suggests Gosforth Park Way, about four minutes away. Tell the event team at the start if you prefer not to be photographed.
