Better Swim School at Ballysillan
Build water confidence, safety and swimming technique through the centre’s children’s lesson pathway.
- Who it’s for
- Foundation 4+; Development 5+ with 15-metre unaided prerequisite; Academy by level
About this outing
Ballysillan’s children’s Swim School progresses from Foundation, age 4+, through Development, age 5+, and Academy. Foundation teaches water safety and survival skills through Red, Amber and Green levels, aiming towards independent ten-metre swimming. Development requires a child already able to swim 15 metres unaided and works on all four strokes, aquatic sports and survival and rescue skills. Academy develops self-directed swimming, junior lifesaving and personal goals. These are levels within one lesson programme, not separate suppliers or interchangeable drop-ins. Book the appropriate level through the centre’s Book online link or speak to the team through the Better UK app. The centre currently advertises a pool closure on 27 October, a sports-hall closure and no hot water in the female pre-cleanse showers. Check the centre before travelling: the notice headings do not establish reopening times. Public-swim admission rates are not lesson fees; check the course’s full charge and joining arrangements before enrolling.
